I have been asked a few times how I edit my images. This one was done in Lightroom.
Turn saturation to -100 which takes all colour out.
Increase the exposure, contrast and blacks.
Crop to remove black edge in the top left corner.
Use the adjustment brush to:
1) create a blur on the text on her shoulder straps (the text distracts from the subject)
2) lighten the light background around the face
3) sharpen the eyes
Voila. It took me less than 5 minutes to edit this image.
